Our vision is that the facilities that we have in and around Blagdon are used to provide a unique, comprehensive educational resource, managed in an effective and professional way. This approach will help raise the general understanding of food and farming in the South West, thereby filling a clear educational gap, and we will use the consumer awareness of the Yeo Valley Organic brand to make it a substantial and effective initiative.

Success of the project will be measurable – the number of people who experience the activities that we offer and the extent to which the information that we share influences individual and organisational decisions about food, the countryside and the environment.

Key delivery objectives

The educational aspects of all of these facilities will be managed in a coordinated way, drawing on the skills and resources already available to us in order to provide a ground-breaking, effective training and education output that will promote:

  • A greater understanding of the countryside and nature
  • A greater understanding of the role of farming (both organic and non-organic)
  • A greater awareness of the vital nature of good food
  • A clear understanding of conservation and the need for a sustainable approach to the use of natural resources
  • An awareness of Yeo Valley’s approach to the above
